ADULT SERVICES
Individual and Group Therapy
Provided through Outpatient Services, this department offers over 20
specialized therapy groups to address the needs of children,
adolescents, adults and families. Individual, group, marital and
family psychotherapy and counseling for all ages is available.
Continuing Care
The focus of this department is to combine treatment with community
outreach and education, advocacy for clients and their families,
case management and involvement with other agencies. These services
are specifically geared toward individuals who are discharged from
state hospitals, have had numerous community hospitalizations or
require long-term chemotherapy.
Day
Treatment
Day Treatment for adults meets six hours per day, three days per
week. This involves a variety of group therapies and community and
socialization activities to support community living. The
psychiatrist and RN provide evaluation and medication management.
CM (Case Management)
CM services help maintain mental health consumers in the community
by building social support, coordinating resources, finding proper
treatment programs, benefits and education. Twenty-four hour support
available.
Children in the Middle
This is a court-mandated program to assist parents struggling with
issues of divorce and custody. This is one time parenting education
class, is designed to teach parents how to avoid placing their
children in the middle of their adult difficulties.
Kids in Common
This is a court-mandated or voluntary program designed to teach
divorcing or separating parents to communicate together in able to
better parent their children. The focus of Kids in Common is on the
children’s needs.
IOP( Intensive Outpatient) IOP is intensive, short-term therapy
involving both group and individual treatment, based on the client's
need and goals.
Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services (PRS)
PRS is a voluntary program designed to meet the needs of individuals
18 or older who have been diagnosed by a psychiatrist with serious
and persistent mental illness. PRS provides a number of quality
services that promote recovery and wellness for people with
psychiatric disabilities to live, learn, work and socialize in their
environments of choice with a minimal amount of support.
Developmental Disabilities
Developmental Disabilities provides services for the developmentally
disabled and mentally retarded.
Located at 120 North Fifth Street,
Indiana, PA, the DD Unit of the Community Guidance Center offers a
wide range of services to residents of Indiana County with
developmental disabilities and mental retardation as well as to
their families or caretakers. These services are provided at no cost
to the family or individual. Professionally trained support
coordinators assist consumers and their families with obtaining
whatever services are needed to maximize growth and potential or to
help meet basic needs. Support coordinators can help with
information and referral for medial needs, early intervention
services, vocational/educational programs, residential programs,
respite care and advocacy. |
